Raita with Mint, Turmeric and Garam Masala

Raita is a wonderful way to balance a fiery chutney, grilled meats or curry. The yoghurt helps balance any spicy heat whilst the mint brings a refreshing and slightly sweet flavour. The addition of spices and seasoning adds a depth and savoury hint to the dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of natural, plain yoghurt
  • 2 teaspoons shop bought mint sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garam masala
  • ¼ teaspoon fine salt
  • 1 - 3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Collect together your equipment (see Recipe Notes below) and ingredients.

  2. Measure out the ingredients, except the milk, into a mixing bowl and stir well.

  3. Slowly add the milk, mixing, until you reach the consistency you like.
